GAPTEC Electronic introduces the new LMTO78 series

High-efficiency non-isolated SMT switching regulator — up to 95 % efficiency in ultra-thin and open-frame variants

500 mA Output Current, 95 % Efficiency, 4.75–36 V Input Range, 2 M h MTBF, SMT Package

The new LMTO78 series is a non-isolated, high-efficiency DC/DC switching regulator in an SMT package,
developed for modern, energy-efficient electronic assemblies where efficiency, reliability, and compactness are equally critical. The series is available in two mechanical variants: the LMTO78_0.5R in an ultra-thin SMT housing of just 3.5 mm height (12.50 x 13.50 x 3.50 mm) and the LMTO78_0.5R1 in an open-frame design (12 x 12 x 4.5 mm). Both variants deliver 500 mA output current and are available across a broad output-voltage range from 3.3 to 15 VDC

With an efficiency of up to 95 % at full load, the LMTO78 series minimises power dissipation and operates
entirely without external heatsinks — a decisive advantage for densely populated PCBs and compact
enclosures. The no-load input current is as low as 0.2 mA, further reducing energy consumption in stand-by. Depending on the output version, the input voltage range extends from 4.75 to 36 VDC, reliably covering standard 24 V industrial buses with wide voltage-tolerance bands.

Engineered for outstanding reliability, the LMTO78 series achieves an impressive MTBF of 2,000,000 hours
(MIL-HDBK-217F @ 25 °C) and operates stably across a temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C (with derating from 71 °C). The integrated continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery safeguards the system even under fault conditions. The LMTO78_0.5R additionally features a remote on/off input (Ctrl) and meets MSL Level 1 for unlimited floor life under standard conditions.

Both variants comply with CISPR32/EN 55032 Class B (using the recommended external circuit) and meet the relevant immunity requirements, including ESD up to ±4 kV (contact) and surge up to ±1 kV. With a switching frequency of 500 kHz (LMTO78_0.5R) and 1.2 MHz (LMTO78_0.5R1), the series can be flexibly tailored to different filter-design and component-size requirements. The LMTO78 series is fully RoHS-compliant, underlining GAPTEC’s commitment to environmentally friendly and high-quality power-supply solutions

GAPTEC Electronic introduces the new LMTM78 series

Ultra-compact non-isolated SMT DC/DC switching regulator — 0.5 A and 1.0 A in just 9 x 7 x 3 mm

The new LMTM78 series is a non-isolated, regulated DC/DC switching regulator housed in an ultra-compact SMT package, engineered for space-critical and energy-efficient applications in modern electronics. The series is available in two current variants: the LMTM78_0.5R1 delivers 500 mA and the LMTM78_1.0R1 delivers 1,000 mA of output current — both featuring a wide 6.5 to 36 VDC input voltage range and a regulated 5 V output (also available as a -5 V variant).

The standout feature of the series is its remarkably compact and slim form factor of only 9.00 x 7.00 x 3.00 mm — an ideal footprint for highly integrated assemblies where every square millimetre counts. With an efficiency of up to 91 % at full load and a no-load current of just 0.1 mA, the LMTM78 series delivers excellent energy utilisation in both active operation and stand-by. No external heatsink is required, significantly simplifying integration and reducing overall system complexity.

Designed for reliable continuous operation, the series covers an extended temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C (with derating from 71 °C). A continuous short-circuit protection with automatic recovery safeguards the downstream system even under fault conditions. An MTBF of 1,000,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F @ 25 °C) underlines the long-term reliability of the series.

Operating at a switching frequency of 500 kHz with a typical ripple & noise of 50 mVp-p and built-in light-load frequency-reduction technology to reduce power consumption at low loads, the LMTM78 series provides a stable and clean supply for sensitive downstream electronics. The module complies with EN 55032 Class B (using the recommended external circuit) as well as ESD (±4 kV contact) and surge (±1 kV) immunity requirements. The flame-retardant black plastic case is certified to UL94 V-0. The converter follows the international standard SMD pin-out on a 2.54 mm grid and is supplied on tape & reel for automated assembly.

GAPTEC Electronic introduces the new LME78_2.0R / LME78_3.0R series

GAPTEC Electronic announces the launch of the LME78_2.0R and LME78_3.0R families—non-isolated switching regulators optimized for high-efficiency low-voltage conversion in compact electronic systems.

14:1 input range switching regulator with 1A output current

GAPTEC Electronic presents the new LCW78_1.0 series.

The LCW78_1.0 series is a non-isolated POL switching regulator with an ultra-wide 14:1 high input voltage range (5-72VDC) that comes in a standard SIP3 package, covering most of the battery ranges and the standard power bus. This series offers high efficiency up to 96% and a very low quiescent current: 500uA. Further features are a low ripple and noise (50 mVP-p) and short circuit protection (SCP).
